practiceDecimals and percents
A percent is a fraction out of 100. When the denominator divides 100, scale the fraction up so the bottom is 100 and read the top. When it does not, divide and move the decimal point two places right.
How to use it
- If the bottom divides 100, multiply top and bottom so the bottom is 100. The top is the percent.
- Otherwise divide the top by the bottom.
- Multiply the decimal by 100.
Example
Where it goes wrong
- Stopping at the decimal: 0.375 is not 0.375%.
- Dividing the bottom by the top.
